“Eat a Bug!” Family Arts Day is one of AMSET’s most popular events, where children and their families are tempted to try the creepy, crawly delicacy of fried crickets. Visitors are invited to explore our current exhibit, "Texas Impressionism: Branding with
Brushstroke and Color, 1885-1935" and learn about the Day of the Dead by making Latin American crafts such as decorated sugar skulls. Other exciting art activities include bug antennae, Trick-or-Treat bags, lollipop spiders, en plein air paintings and more!!! Entertainment includes Latin American music and dancing by the Mexican Heritage Society at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for our Costume Contest at noon. PRIZES AWARDED!!! Face painting and refreshments round out this SPOOKTACULAR event!!! The event is FREE and open to the public.
