Opening Reception: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 18
This exhibition will feature the ceramic art of Linnis Blanton, southeast Texas native and adjunct instructor of ceramics at Lamar University. He received his B.S. and B.F.A. from Lamar University, and worked as an art teacher in the Port Arthur Independent School District for thirty years prior to his current position at Lamar. Blanton is well known throughout the area for his ceramic vessels and sculptures that subconsciously reference figurative subjects and the organic elements of the natural world in his shape, texture and form. AMSET’s exhibition will focus on recent works by the artist and will be Blanton’s first exhibition with the museum.
