Protégé Competition and Exhibition provides local 12th-graders exposure to the art world. AMSET believes it is important for young artists to have an opportunity to experience art competitions and learn to properly exhibit artwork. Protégé is offered to senior students in Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, and Tyler counties.
This year’s Protégé juror, Ellen Tanner is a professional artist from Bastrop, Texas and is currently being exhibited in Ellen Tanner: Fables, Families and Myths at AMSET.
First, second, and third place winners will receive a four-year art scholarship to Lamar University Department of Art.
