Joining in on the First Thursday fun downtown, AMSET will offer wine and beer for purchase as well as light refreshments.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view Craig Odle: Experiments and Evolution on view in the Café Art Series for Local Artists and artist John Alexander's work will be on view in the West Hall.
AMSET is also excited to welcome James Marshall, jazz trumpeter, to play at our September First Thursday!
James attended Lamar University to study music education, performing in concert, marching, and jazz band, under the direction of Jimmy Simmons. It was during that time James made lifelong connections with fellow musicians that led him to perform on the local scene with the Southern Comfort band of Beaumont.
Next came recording, and touring with Tony Dupuis, and Infinity, of which had national radio presence in the mid 80’s, and performances with Ramsey Lewis, Spyro Gyra, and Roy Ayres. James did contract performances for a few years with Disney, Universal Studios, and performed with the Lawrence Welk All Star band. James has extensive studio and road band experience, and he continues to perform with a variety of bands on a local and regional level.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The event will take place Thursday, September 5, 2019, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the museum’s café and foyer.
