  • 06 Feb 2020
  • 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Art Museum of Southeast Texas

Joining in on the First Thursday fun downtown, AMSET stays open later and gives the community a chance to see its current exhibitions while enjoying great jazz!

AMSET's winter exhibits, EMILY PEACOCK: Pure Comedy and DAVID MCGEE: Black Paintings will be on view in the main galleries. In addition, AMSET's new Café Art Series, THOMAS DURAN: Obscurity of a Moment will be on view. An opening reception will be held in conjunction with First Thursday.

This month's featured musician is Rick Condit, director of jazz studies and professor of saxophone at Lamar University. He, along with musical group ReBop, will provide the jazzy soundtrack of the evening.

AMSET's First Thursday February Pop-Up artist will be Hannah Marlow, an illustrator and graphic designer. She currently attends Lamar University where she is pursuing a degree in Studio Art: Graphic Design. She creates various types of handmade paper and non-paper goods such as; greeting cards, buttons, stickers, prints, notebooks, & clay pins. Her work consists of lovely colorful illustrations and designs that express her personal sense of fun and creativity.

Admission is free and open to the public. Wine and beer will be available for purchase and light refreshments will be offered.

The event will take place Thursday, February 6, 2020, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the museum’s café and foyer.
