AMSET presents John Mariani: Birdscapes on view December 19, 2013 through March 9, 2014 in AMSET's Cafe Arts.
John Mariani was born and raised in northern California. He graduated with a degree in fine arts from San Jose State University, San Jose, California. In 2003, Mariani moved to Southeast Texas and only recently started painting again in 2010. A bird lover for over thirty years, Mariani naturally gravitates toward wildlife art and birds in particular.
“Most of my paintings are about the connection between birds and their environment, in which birds exist as living elements within landscapes," states Mariani. "My work focuses on how birds animate their landscapes (and skyscapes).”
Birdscapes is part of AMSET’s continued mission to feature local artists in Café Arts. The exhibition is open for viewing during regular museum hours: Monday through Friday: 9 am - 5 pm; Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm; Sunday: noon - 5 pm. Two Magnolia’s serves lunch in Café Arts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, contact AMSET at (409) 832-3432 or visit www.amset.org.
